Who We Are
We are a member-based, and community-driven non-profit organisation. We aim to increase migrants’ professional employment successes, and small business entrepreneurship.
What We Do
We improve individual job-seeking skills to gain professional employment, such as job application and interviews.
We are a sounding board for initial business ideas, transforming them into successful start-ups.
We also connect unsupported migrants to other community agencies for migrants, Government bodies and Industry Associations.
Our Mission
We enhance the opportunities for migrants to Tasmania to obtain meaningful and lasting employment and/or income by working with all associated organisations and levels of Government. We provide the appropriate connections to employers, funding, workplace culture and other training plus connection to any wider community networks needed.
Our Vision
Every migrant to Tasmania finds meaningful work or builds successful businesses and, in turn, achieves a fulfilling life for themselves and their family members.
Our Goals
To increase employment skills of migrants, foster networking among migrant communities, and with the wider community. To direct migrants to any other assistance needed.
Our Team
We have a small team of professionals dedicated to assisting each individual migrant to reach their potential in all areas of their life.All our Committee Members volunteer their time.

We Were Inspired By
MTConnector was inspired by the 2020 Multicultural Economic Participation Forum that explored possible solutions to the mismatching and misconnection between the needs of the local job market and the skills of the incoming migrant population.
Feedback provided by participants, employers and industry presenters indicated a demand for a sustainable supporting & advocative entity for migrants and stakeholders. In response, MTConnector was launched in 2021.
Our Approach to Support
We collaborate and partner with existing community support such as the Migrant Resource Centre, Catholic Care, Jobs Hub, and the Multicultural Council of Tasmania.
We aim to connect members to this local support network and fill any gaps in their gaining employment and business support.
